POP3 Email Account Setup


Microsoft Outlook 2007



    1. In Outlook 2007, from theToolsmenu, selectAccount Settings.

    1. On theE-mailtab, clickNew.

    1. SelectMicrosoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTPand clickNext.

    1. CheckManually configure server settings or additional server typesand clickNext.

    1. SelectInternet E-mailand clickNext.

    1. Enter the requested information:

        • Your Name:your name

        • Email Address:the email address the messages will be sent from

        • Account Type:POP3

        • Incoming Mail server:mail.domainname.xyz

        • Outgoing Mail server:mail.domainname.xyz

        • User Name:the full email address

        • Password:the password for the email address



    1. ClickMore Settings.

    1. On the Outgoing Server tab, checkMy outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

    1. SelectUse same settings as my incoming mail serverand clickOK.

    1. ClickTest Account Settingsto verify everything is configured correctly.

    1. ClickNextand then clickFinish.


 


Microsoft Outlook 2003



    1. In Outlook, from theToolsmenu, selectEmail Accounts.

    1. SelectAdd a new email accountand then clickNext.

    1. SelectPOP3and then clickNext.

    1. Enter your email information:

        • Your Name:your name

        • Email Address:the email address the messages will be sent from

        • Incoming Mail server (POP3):mail.domainname.xyz

        • Outgoing Mail server (SMTP):mail.domainname.xyz

        • User Name:the email address used to log into the webmail interface

        • Password:the password for the email address



    1. Click onMore Settingsand select theOutgoing Server Tab.

    1. CheckMy outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

    1. SelectUse same settings as my incoming mail server.

    1. ClickOk. ClickNext. ClickFinish.


 


Microsoft Outlook Express



    1. In Outlook Express, from theToolsmenu, selectAccounts...

    1. A box will appear. ClickAddand selectMail.

    1. Enter your name as you want it to appear on your emails and clickNext.

    1. Put in your email address, which consists of a user you set up in webmail and @yourdomain.xyz, and then clickNext.

    1. Set the server type asPOP3.

    1. For incoming and outgoing mail servers, enter mail.yourdomain.xyz (where yourdomain.xyz is your domain name and extension such as .com).

    1. Click onNext.

    1. Enter your email address for theAccount Name. Enter the password you set for this account.
      Note:Do NOT check the box "Log on using Secure Password Authentication".

    1. ClickNextand then clickFinish. After you clickFinish, you should see the following window. If not, go to theToolsmenu, and click onAccounts. After clickingAccountsthe window will appear. In this window, click on your domain until it is highlighted, then click onProperties.

    1. When the next screen appears, click on theServerstab. Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the box next toMy server requires authentication. ClickOkay.Note:You MUST do this step so you can send mail from your domain.

  1. Now, you're ready to send and receive mail. To set up multiple accounts, follow these steps again
